Google will work with Brightsource to build the world's largest solar tower power plant which its the largest investment ever made by Google which reached a value of about $ 168 million. The site will be established in California's Mojave Desert, which is estimated to be producing about 392 gross MW of solar power.

This large project plan was announced on the official Google blog and its expected to generate energy equivalent to taking more than 90.000 cars off the road for 25 years. Solar tower named Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System will have 450 feet high which will be equipped with a 173, 000 heliostats or mirrors. The project is expected to be completed in 2013.

Nevertheless, some environmental conservation groups to assess the project is less friendly to the environment around the solar tower. They claim that the tower could damage the surrounding ecosystems and habitats that have been a breeding ground for endangered turtles. Google calls this project as the beginning and hoping to make a bigger project next time.
