The oil spill in the Campos basin, off the northern coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro, led to a spot in the sea 162 km ², equivalent to half of the bay. This situation worries environmentalists, who warn of the risk of death of animals.
According to Chevron, the spot, located about 120 km of coastal fields, is moving away from the coast toward Southeast, ie, toward the African continent. The volume of oil accumulated in the area is 521 to 882 barrels - up to 140,000 liters.
