India is country with greater acceptance of electric cars

With over 3 million electric and hybrid cars circulating in the world, green cars are increasingly accepted by consumers. At least that is what indicates an unpublished research sponsored by the TÜV Rheinland certified companies in 70 countries.

The study, which was presented at the 64th Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany, found that 92% of Indian, Chinese 88% and 85% of Italians said they are willing to buy a car powered by electricity over the next five years. The layout is slightly lower among the Germans and the Americans: 57%.

According to executive vice president of mobility of the TÜV Rheinland, Thomas Aubel, the results show a major change in the composition of the world in the coming years.

The poll surveyed drivers from 12 countries in Europe, Asia and North America. Most of them, the main incentive for buying an electric car is to cut costs. In Germany alone the environmental issues are a priority, while in Italy, India and China environmental aspects and financial factors are equal in priority.

Brazilian drivers excluded from the study, but, according to projections by the Brazilian Association of Electric Vehicle (ABVE) in ten years the country has become representative naeletromobilidade. "In 2021, about 30% of new cars sold here will be electric or hybrid," says Jayme Buarque de Hollanda, chairman of ABVE.

When asked which manufacturer was associated with more eletromobilidade, Toyota took the top spot easily. The majority of respondents would choose the Toyota electric cars: 34%. This is double the second-place Honda (17.2%). Then came Volkswagen, Nissan, Ford, Renault and Peugeot.

Regarding the development and investment in eletromobilidade, Japan (53%) and Germany (42%) are in the opinion of the surveyed countries most committed to technology.
