Global Solar Energy has started the production activity of its new factory of solar panels. The seat of the district Adlershof, Berlin, flexible panels currently produces more efficient in the world. The new plant has a production capacity of 35 megawatts (MW). Were hired over 60 employees and is expected to be created another 100 jobs by the end of 2012.
After operating a successful trial held in August 2011, foldable thin-film modules are currently two shifts in the production phase and is scheduled to pass to the three shifts at the end of September. In the new factory has a production area of 2,100 square meters, solar cells undergo a process of laminating sheets for greater strength and durability of the product. The high degree of efficiency of the module, which goes up to 12.6 percent, is achieved using a special mixture of copper, indium, gallium and selenide-. The factory also has machines that provide for a special product processing and ensure optimized series production.
"The production was successfully started. We have achieved in just five months the entire equipment of the new plant, in collaboration with experienced suppliers and the wider expertise and commitment of our extraordinary team. Of this I am very grateful to my collaborators, "said Jens Muehling, CEO of the company's German subsidiary.
Thanks to its light weight of 3.5 kg per square meter of surface, the finished solar panel, BIPV PowerFlex, is particularly suitable for industrial flat roofs, which often does not allow the static application of heavy thick-film modules. The flexible thin-film modules are attached to the roof surface after being unrolled and need no support. The roof is not perforated, or you create additional wind loads. With a size of 5.75 to 0.5 meters, the panel PowerFlex offers a high power density, up to 300 watts. E 'by about 50 percent more efficient than flexible amorphous silicon solar modules.
