Solar-powered Ball for the Blind
Solar-powered football is one of evidence that that solar panels can be integrated into any object that we interact with on a daily basis and to push the limits of what is possible with solar panels. Developed by Taiwan-based Greendix solar panel designer solar-powered soccer ball can make an emit sound when its kicked.
The form and color of the ball is still the same with a standard soccer ball, just the black pentagonal-shaped leather patches have been replaced with solar cells. The solar panels on the ball will generate electricity to power the built-in motion sensors and audio device, which could possibly enable visually impaired people to play soccer or football.
Forward the possibility of solar panels on the ball can be developed for LED lights or some other sensor that can be useful for certain purposes. It is also possible to invite the designers of solar panels everywhere to be more creative in integrating solar panels into products that can benefit by using green energy. California-based Sonelis Technologies is handling the distribution for the Greendix produce line.
